So let me get this straight. Batman needed a partner, so he took on Robin, but Robin became Nightwing so...Batman grew a giant pair of lips on his abdomen? And apparently, in his grief, he spent way too much time working out his left side.

Um, Is It Just Me, Or Is That a Woman's Mouth on Batman's Stomach?

If Animals Could Talk, We'd All Be Vegetarians
OK, one last post for today. My wife sent me this quote that I really liked, and thought I'd post it here for posterity's sake:
"I don't understand why asking people to eat a well-balanced vegetarian diet is considered drastic, while it is medically conservative to cut people open and put them on cholesterol lowering drugs for the rest of their lives." - Dean Ornish, MD
I've been a vegetarian since February 1999, though I have had an on-again, off-again relationship with fish (currently I do eat seafood, though for years I did not). I don't preach my beliefs on this subject to others, nor do I judge anybody else for what they choose to eat. What you put in your body is as personal a choice as religion. I do, however, believe that society would greatly benefit if even a small portion of us shifted to an all-vegetarian diet. The environmental and health benefits alone would be staggering.

Love & Rockets #32
And while I'm actually posting updates, I should also mention that I just published Shelf Life #32 last night. This one looks at middle chapters for both of Gilbert's ongoing graphic novels ("Poison River" and "Love and Rockets") as well as Jaime's short Locas story "Below My Window Lurks My Head." By the way, does anybody know where Jaime came up with that title? I did some googling and wasn't really able to come to any kind of definitive answer, though there were a few hits for some Pixies fan sites, so it makes me think maybe this is a reference to a song lyric. Anyway, if I don't find out beforehand, I'll ask Jaime personally whenever I finally get the chance to interview Los Bros. I've been keeping a running list of questions for both brothers since I began this project.
Love & Rockets #31
How lazy have I gotten about this blog? I completely forgot to post that I had published my 31st Shelf Life column all the way back on April 8. I mean, the thought did occur to me a couple of times, but usually it was at 2:00 am, or when I was doing something else. Anyway, go check it out. This one includes Jaime's classic "Spring 1982" in which we finally learn a little more about Doyle's background. Good stuff!
